v. 1 tr. & intr. (usu. foll. by from) disconnect or become disconnected; separate (dissociated her from their guilt). 2 tr. Chem. decompose, esp. reversibly. 3 tr. Psychol. cause (a person's mind) to develop more than one centre of consciousness.
